Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) saturates the entire body with oxygen in
greater concentrations than under normal conditions. This is made possible by 100% oxygen
being administered via a mask or a hood under increased atmospheric pressures
inside a specialized chamber room.
HBOT typically consists of twenty to thirty daily two-hour sessions over a
month’s time.
HBOT has an impressive success rate in treating a variety of conditions such as
burn injuries and non-healing wounds and tissue injury most commonly associated
with diabetes, infections, surgery and radiation therapy. HBOT is also well known for use in
treating underwater diving accidents, carbon monoxide poisonings and crush
injuries.
