The Southern AeroMedical Institute's (SAMI) state-of-the-art hyperbaric chamber is one of a few entirely computer controlled and monitored systems in the world. Each patient treatment station has a comfortable reclining chair with an optional footrest.A patient can play board games with a member of the “patient treatment team”, read a book or take a nap while therapy is in session.

The hyperbaric center’s outcomes and compliance rates have remained high with the facility logging over 38,000 total patient treatments without incident. The compliance and positive outcome rate for hyperbaric patients is due to careful patient screening for the appropriateness of hyperbaric oxygen therapy and a comfortable chamber room. The seating arrangement creates a support group atmosphere for patients and their families to share similar problems and successes.

The 32 foot long, 10 foot diameter multi-person chamber room is capable of providing therapy to up to 12 individuals at one time with accompanying medical attendants. The spacious size of the chamber room also helps alleviate anxiety a patient may have in confined spaces. The typical patient receives 20 to 30 of the daily two-hour treatment sessions on average.
